Copper in the Stormforge Demo
Copper is not available in the current Stormforge Demo. The October 7, 2026 update removed copper and Blast runes. Old copper-mining and workbench guides describe an earlier Demo; use the current trial’s limits when planning your next upgrade.

Can you get copper in the current Demo?
No. The official v0.1.036.27824 update removed copper from the Demo on October 7, 2026. The latest public Demo checked on October 27 is v0.1.036.28537; the later update notes do not restore that copper route.
Keep this answer separate from the planned paid game. Early Access is scheduled for November 10, 2026, but that date does not establish a current recipe, mining route or availability change.
Why older copper guides no longer fit
Earlier Demo discussions describe copper ore, ingots, a Copper Workbench and the equipment unlocked after the first boss. Those instructions can be genuine accounts of an older build and still be unusable in the current trial.
| What you are reading | How to use it now |
|---|---|
| A copper-unlock route from before October 7 | It predates the Demo reduction. Do not plan the current trial around that route. |
| The October 7 update and October 8 developer reply | These explicitly remove copper and Blast runes from the Demo. |
| A later recipe or tool requirement | A displayed requirement does not mean its material is obtainable inside the trial. |
Repeatedly searching another generated world is not a copper-unlock solution supported by these updates.
Why Howling Woods trees ask for a Copper Axe
The v0.1.036.28316 update made Howling Woods trees require a copper axe. This happened after copper had been removed from the Demo.
Howling Woods trees require a Copper Axe; that requirement does not restore the old Demo copper route. Reaching that tool requirement does not reveal a new copper-mining path. Older instructions that start by smelting copper and building a workbench do not solve the current Demo limit.
What if a quest still asks for Blast runes?
Blast runes were removed from the Demo alongside copper. In the October 8 feedback thread, a player reported that the Storm Table said the runes were not in the Demo while a quest still asked for them. The developer confirmed the reduced scope and said unavailable objectives should identify the restriction in the quest UI.
The quest text is therefore not evidence that you have missed a current Demo recipe. Follow the trial’s availability boundary instead of treating an older cave-opening route as the next required step.
What can you work on instead?
- Before Squallreaver: prepare first-kingdom equipment, ordinary food and repaired gear. The developer recommends upgraded first-kingdom weapons for that fight; copper is not the preparation route described by that advice.
- For the offering: gather Corrupted Rock, then follow the Squallreaver Feast and altar route.
- At a progression boundary: compare the playable Demo with planned Early Access before starting a higher-tier material plan.
Current boundaries come from the official October 7 Demo update and October 19 update. A developer also confirmed the reduced scope in the October 8 reply.
